Am I the only one this seems like weirdo behavior to? Am I missing something?

The context is these dudes will dismiss any interest a woman has as inferior. Imagine guys coming up to you, asking what you're listening to, and then immediately dismissing it as not that good. So instead of giving them an opportunity to talk shit about something she enjoys, she makes up a fake band to show that their response is just them acting condescending without any actual knowledge to back up their behavior, only wanting to act superior to her. Like if he said he hadn't heard of it, that'd be normal. But that he's saying he wasn't that impressed, he's demonstrating a lack of good faith.
