Good movie, partially because all the detailed backstory I’ve seen everyone referencing in their band camp AU posts and moodboards appears to be contained in the books or comics or whatever where it belongs rather than stopping the show for 20 minutes to explain things, which is the strong suit for movies where your time and space are strictly constrained.

The villain was weird? I think they couldn’t decide if they wanted him to be more “I’m unethical because it will help people” or “I’m unethical because I’m rich” and instead chose to just bounce between those two constantly and not pick one. The actual inciting incident and villain are kind of rushed and weird but fortunately that’s not really the focus of the story anyways.

Falls under the category of media that has queer shit going on but isn’t about queer shit and it is welcome.

I have other thoughts on this but they haven’t settled I may or may not be back.
